There is no question that Hawaii is a musical state.  It is said that Hawaii's musical contribution to the world is immensely out of proportion to our State's small size.  From world-wide love of slack-key guitar and hula, to its frequent part in Hollywood, the music of Hawaii is not only part of our local life, but of the world's. 

We are a musical people.  We are madly proud of our young local musicians and we revere those who have stood the test of time.  And this is why the Music Foundation of Hawaii exists.
